Illuminated Wax Sculptures
Works in this ongoing series are created by casting wax into frames. As in other works, these pieces capture an action and freeze it in time. Here, too, the process of making the works has a substantial element of unpredictability and the final result is revealed only after the work is completed. The final textures tend to resemble cooled lava or the surface of some distant planet, especially when lit from the back.
